• 1 - Prepare Tapioca Pearls:
  Boil the black tapioca pearls following the package instructions. Rinse briefly with cold water and soak in 1 tbsp maple syrup for extra flavor.
• 2 - Mix Lotus-Almond Base:
  In a shaker or blender, combine chilled almond milk and lotus seed paste. Shake or blend vigorously until the paste is dissolved and frothy.
• 3 - Brew Tea (Optional):
  If using, brew English breakfast tea strongly and let it cool. This boosts floral notes and tradition.
• 4 - Assemble Layers:
  In tall glasses, add crushed ice and distribute boba pearls at the bottom. Pour in tea (if using) and then the lotus-almond milk mixture.
• 5 - Sweeten & Shine:
  Stir in remaining maple syrup to sweeten. Garnish with toasted almond flakes and a small torn piece of edible gold leaf for the lantern glow.
